6:00am: “Knock, knock, wake-up call”. Whether you stay in the Okavango Delta, Makgadikgadi NP, the wide-open Kalahari or Chobe National Park, In the heart of Botswana, every day starts early. The first rays of the sun break through on the horizon and you are gently woken by the guide. This is the moment when the wilderness comes alive. Around 6:30am, you are expected for breakfast, a quick meal and then off into the wild in search of the adventure ahead.
Morning activities: discover the untamed wilderness
After breakfast, your day really begins. Depending on your location, you can opt for an exhilarating game drive through the vast savannahs, a tranquil boat cruise along the Chobe River, an immersive walking safari across the floodplains of the Okavango Delta, or a serene mokoro trip, gliding silently through the crystal-clear channels of the Okavango Delta. These activities are designed to give you the best chance to witness Botswana’s incredible wildlife in their natural habitat.
During your adventure, take a break at a scenic spot, perhaps under an imposing baobab or by a tranquil lagoon, where you will enjoy a steaming cup of coffee with local delicacies while taking in the beauty of the surroundings. You return to the lodge around 11:00 am, reeling from all the impressions, which range from a pride of lions to a herd of elephants heading to the river.

Afternoon: relaxation and reflection
Between 11:30 and 12:00, brunch or lunch will be served, a mix of local flavours and international dishes. Afterwards, there is time for yourself. This is the time to recover from all the impressions of the African wilderness, whether you relax by the pool, read a book with the sounds of the bush in the background, or simply take a siesta to prepare for the next activity.

Afternoon and evening: The Golden Hours
Around 15:30, high tea will be served. When the heat subsides a little, you will leave for the afternoon activity, another game drive or a boat cruise that offers a different perspective as the light softens. During this cruise, you will stop at a scenic location for a sundowner, a much-loved safari tradition. As the sun sets over the Okavango Delta or the Chobe River and the sky turns golden, orange and pink hues, enjoy an ice-cold drink, toasting the day’s discoveries.
You usually return to camp between 19:00 and 19:30, just in time to see the stars appear in the sky. The evening often starts with drinks by the campfire, where you share stories with fellow travellers. This is followed by dinner, a sumptuous meal you have earned after such a beautiful day.

Night: The sounds of the bush
After dinner, your bed will tempt you. Safaris are both impressive and exhilarating, and a good night’s sleep is essential. As you get ready for bed, your guide will escort you to your tent or room. Safety is paramount, especially in the lodges, where there are no fences and wild animals roam freely. Under the dark starry sky, the wilderness takes on a different character, and it is not uncommon to hear the distant roar of a lion or the howl of a hyena as you fall asleep. This is just another day in the bush!!!
