REALLY GET TO
KNOW THE WILDLIFE
Dive into the world of wildlife guides at the African Guide Academy.
Are you impressed by the skills of local wildlife guides during a safari in Botswana? Then this is your chance to learn from the best guides. In the quiet rainy season, the top guides of the African Guide Academy (AGA) train guides of many lodges. But after that, they make all the time for you! In the southern tip of the Okavango Delta, the basic tented camp Camp Kwapa is AGA’s home base. Here, your training days will be all about discovering and understanding the bush and its wildlife. Discover the beautiful area around the camp on foot, by 4×4 and by mokoro. The fantastic staff will make sure that you wish for nothing as you connect with nature.
During the training, you can obtain guiding licenses from BQA (Botswana Qualifications Authority) and FGASA (Field Guide Association of South Africa).

Real safari in Botswana? Follow the seven-day trail through the Delta
This adventurous seven-day training course is all about discovering the behaviour of wild animals through the tracks they leave behind. The best way to learn this, of course, is by going into the bush on foot; this way, you will come very close to the large and small inhabitants of the Delta. Every morning, you will leave before sunrise and return to camp at around 11.00 am. In the afternoon, you will be on the road again for the evening activity. Apart from the safaris on foot, you will also go on a 4×4 adventure. And if the water level allows it, you will discover other areas by boat. In between, there are various lectures and of course, there is time to relax or study. Because at the end of the course, there is an exam, which can earn you a certificate of participation.
Is this your next step as a safari fan? Please contact us and we will gladly tell you more about the content, price and start dates. If you travel in a group we can also arrange private training.
