Why we love this area
"From most lodges, you can enjoy an armchair safari here!"

Makgadikgadi National Park is located on the western edge of the salt pans and offers a surprisingly contrasting safari area. During the dry season, the Boteti River, depending on the tides from the Okavango Delta, is full of life. Large groups of zebras, wildebeests, elephants, and predators gather along the banks to drink. This creates impressive sightings!
The area is easily accessible for self-drive travelers with a 4×4 and offers a wide mix of accommodations: from simple campsites to stylish lodges like Meno a Kwena, overlooking the wildlife below.
Unique in this region is the opportunity to do a sleep-out on the open salt pans from certain lodges: sleeping under the stars, right in the middle of an endless white expanse. Unforgettable! This is safari for travelers seeking peace, adventure, and variety. Far away from the crowds.
Best travel time
The best time is from April to November, when the Boteti River is a lifeline for wildlife. Between November and April, the nature is greener, and you see young animals and many birds.
