Your 11-day itinerary
Day 1 - 2: Stopover & arrival in Botswana
Day 1 - 2
Stopover & arrival in Botswana
After a comfortable overnight stay at Johannesburg airport, you will fly around noon to Maun. There, you will be warmly welcomed by our local colleague and transfer to a bush plane en route to the first adventure. The destination? The legendary Selinda Private Reserve, one of the most pristine areas of Botswana. The adventure starts to begin!
Day 2 - 5: Selinda Explorers Camp: pure and exclusive
Day 2 - 5
Selinda Explorers Camp: pure and exclusive
Your guide will wait for you at the airstrip and take you in a safari vehicle to the charming and remote Selinda Explorers Camp. With only four safari tents, this camp is pure and personal. You will stay here in the heart of the wilderness: elephants, buffaloes, lions, and even leopards are regularly spotted. Enjoy walking safaris, mokoro excursions (if water levels allow) and impressive game drives accompanied by top guides. Here you feel that you are alive: wild and truly connected with nature.
Day 5 - 7: Savuti Under Canvas: back to basics, high on adventure
Day 5 - 7
Savuti Under Canvas: back to basics, high on adventure
The next chapter takes you to Savuti, where you will spend the night in a mobile tent camp: Savuti Under Canvas by &Beyond. Here, the bush is REAL. No permanent buildings, no fences. Only canvas, stars, and silence. You live in the midst of the habitat of the notorious Savuti Marsh Pride, a group of over 20 lions. The landscape is varied: rock formations, open plains, and dense mopane forests. From the camp, you will daily set out to spot wildlife. This is how you experience safari as it was truly meant to be.
Day 7 - 10: Duba Explorers, world of Dereck & Beverly Joubert
Day 7 - 10
Duba Explorers, world of Dereck & Beverly Joubert
You will conclude your trip with three nights in one of the most beautiful parts of the Okavango Delta: Duba Plains. You will stay at Duba Explorers Camp, famous from countless National Geographic documentaries. The camp consists of five luxury safari tents, right on the water. Here, everything revolves around narrative safaris: tracking predators, understanding behavior, reading nature. You will go on game drives, take bushwalks, and if conditions are right, you will paddle in the mokoro amongst lilies and dragonflies. Duba is intense and memorable. The perfect finale to your safari in Botswana!
Day 10 - 11: Back home, stories for a lifetime
Day 10 - 11
Back home, stories for life
After a final breakfast among the birds of the Delta, you fly back to Maun and then on to Johannesburg. The journey is over, but your mind is filled with stories. The Botswana Explorer won’t let you go. This was not a vacation, this was an experience. Extreme, exciting, and yet super safe and meticulously organized. And when you share your photos with friends later, you know: this was the world of National Geographic. But in real life. And… we would love to see your photos too!
