Your 12-day itinerary
Day 1 - 4: Makgadikgadi salt pans & meerkat safari
Day 1 - 4
Makgadikgadi salt pans & meerkat safari
Upon arrival in Botswana, you will fly directly to Camp Kalahari, located by the expansive Nwetwe Pan. Here, the safari begins with a warm welcome and a view you will never forget. You will explore the region by quad, on foot with San guides, and (the highlight) through a meeting with a curious meerkat family. At sunset, enjoy a drink on the salt pans. This unique mix of desert landscape and playful wildlife makes the start of your luxury safari in Botswana unforgettable.
Day 4 - 6: Predators and night drives in the Kalahari
Day 4 - 6
Predators and night drives in the Kalahari
You will fly further to the edge of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. In this rugged and quiet wilderness, everything revolves around rare encounters. Think of predators like cheetahs, brown hyenas, and the impressive Kalahari lion. But also smaller nocturnal creatures like porcupines and honey badgers. Dinaka Camp organizes both daytime and nighttime game drives. An absolute must is the guided walk with San bushmen: learn how they survive in this extreme landscape and listen to their stories by the campfire. Pure wilderness, far from civilization.
Day 6 - 8: Welcome to Kanana, Okavango Delta safari
Day 6 - 8
Welcome to Kanana, Okavango Delta safari
By bush plane, you will fly to the lush Okavango Delta. Kanana Camp is situated on the Xudum river and is surrounded by palm and fig trees. Here, boat trips, mokoro excursions, and walking safaris alternate. Spot lions, leopards, and even the elusive Pels Fishing Owl, which breeds in the trees here. The location in a private concession allows for exclusive experiences without other jeeps in sight. The camp is stylish and personal: an oasis for bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike. You hear nothing but nature itself here. And, sometimes a few toasting glasses!
Day 8 - 11: Deluxe safari experience at Shinde Camp
Day 8 - 11
Deluxe safari experience at Shinde Camp
Shinde Camp is your last safari base, located on a private island in the Delta. Here you will experience everything that makes a fly-in safari in Botswana legendary: navigating through winding channels, searching for lions, elephants, and (with some luck) a hunt of wild dogs. The lodge is a sight: luxury suites, an infinity pool, and viewpoints where you can watch the sunset with a glass of wine. In addition to game drives, walking tours and night safaris are also possible. Looking for extra adrenaline? Book a scenic helicopter flight over the Delta.
Day 11 - 12: Last night and return journey via Maun
Day 11 - 12
Last night and return trip via Maun
After a morning full of nature and a final breakfast in the bush, you will fly back to Maun. Time to catch your breath and reflect on the many highlights of this adventurous safari. You will spend one more night in a lodge in Maun for a soft landing. Perhaps selecting photos or simply savoring the moments with a cold drink. Tomorrow, you will fly back home. With memories that will last a lifetime. We are already very curious about your highlights!
