Why we love winter in Botswana
“If you want to see a lot of Botswana, you really must go in this season.”

Yes, it’s the start of winter in Botswana, but in true Botswana style! From June to September, the country experiences its dry winter. Daytime temperatures are pleasantly around 25°C, the rains are gone, and the wildlife is active and easy to spot. The Okavango Delta is full of water, ideal for boat and mokoro safaris. This is the season of clear light, spectacular sightings, and safaris at their best. Tip: make sure to bring a few warm sweaters for the cool nights in Botswana!

Ready for the ultimate (boat) safari season in Botswana?
Ever since we discovered Botswana, we’ve been fans of winter! This is the season that puts Botswana on the map. Want to see wildlife, stay active, and enjoy the Delta’s waterways? Then this is your time. Warm during the day and refreshingly cool at night (sometimes even downright cold), but absolutely unmissable.

“So many animals seen! Every day was a highlight, but especially the mokoro trips were legendary.”
