Why we think this area is amazing
"In Kasane, you can feel the beating heart of Chobe. Elephants, boats, and border crossings, everything comes together here."

Ebe van der Lecq
Founder of Botswana Specialist
Kasane is situated in the northeastern part of Botswana, along the banks of the Chobe River, where four countries meet: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. This strategic location makes it an ideal base for safaris in Chobe National Park and excursions to Victoria Falls.
The atmosphere is vibrant, with safari jeeps, border traffic, and boats coming and going across the river. Kasane offers a wide range of lodges: from simple guesthouses to luxury accommodations right by the water. A boat trip on the Chobe River at sunset is an absolute must: hippos, elephants, and crocodiles are never far away.
Kasane is easily accessible by air and land, also for self-drive travelers. And with the border to Zimbabwe (Vic Falls) just a 15-minute drive away, it’s a logical place to start, end, or combine your journey with neighboring countries.
Best travel time
The best time to visit Kasane is from May to October, during the dry season. Animals flock to the river during this time. In the rainy season (November–March), it’s quieter and greener. Ideal for bird watchers and those who love warm weather.
