“Here you feel the tension of a hunt along the river”
Lagoon Camp is located on the banks of the Kwando River, in the northern part of Botswana. An area where water and grasslands meet, the perfect habitat for large herds of elephants and their natural predators. The camp itself is comfortably and warmly furnished, but the real reason to stay here? The nearly guaranteed action.
Predator paradise
The lagoon and its surrounding grasslands have long been a well-known hunting ground for a large pack of wild dogs. Leopards, lions, and hyenas are also regularly spotted here. The riverbank attracts elephants and buffaloes year-round. The result: tensions in the ecosystem, and therefore spectacular sightings.

Luxury by the water
Lagoon has 8 spacious tented suites (including one family tent) with views of the river. Each suite features a large bed, indoor and outdoor showers, and a private deck. The decor is classic safari: wood, canvas, and natural tones, with plenty of privacy and tranquility.

Safari with depth
As you would expect from Kwando, you’ll go out with a team of guides and trackers. Activities include:
- Game drives (also in the evening)
- Bushwalks (armed and upon request)
- Boating trips when water levels permit
- Birdwatching along the river
Due to its location by the water, Lagoon offers a mix of land and water wildlife.
Comfort in the bush
While Lagoon is about the real safari experience, it also offers surprisingly much comfort:
- Excellent meals and a welcoming team
- Small pool for cooling off
- Cozy lounge with river views
- Fire pit for storytelling after sunset

“Take an hour to simply sit on your deck and watch elephants cross, and with a bit of luck, an otter might hop by!”
