“This is a lovely place for those seeking peace, bird lovers, and anyone who wants to experience the Delta in its gentlest form”
Moremi Crossing is located on an island at the edge of Chief’s Island, overlooking the Boro River. The lodge is small-scale, atmospheric, and above all: completely focused on experiencing the Okavango Delta. Here, you’ll hear the water gently flowing, spot birds among the papyrus fields, and navigate quiet channels with a mokoro. But even those seeking a classic safari will find plenty to enjoy with seasonal game drives and boat safaris.
Island feeling in the Delta
Moremi Crossing is situated on a permanent island in the river and is only accessible by bush plane. Upon arrival, you can feel the tranquility: no motor sounds, just nature. The main building is on an elevated wooden deck with views over the expansive floodplains of the Delta.

Comfortable and natural
The lodge consists of 16 spacious canvas tents (including a family tent), each with its own veranda, ensuite bathroom, and a view of the water. The decor is simple but atmospheric. Don’t expect excess, but rather a natural charm that perfectly fits the surroundings.

Delta adventures
The activities are tailored to the unique character of this area:
- Game drives on Chief’s Island when conditions permit
- Mokoro tours through narrow channels
- Bush walks with armed guides
- Birdwatching including herons, bee-eaters, and jacanas
- Seasonal boat safaris during high water
Intimate and sustainable
Moremi Crossing is built with natural materials and largely operates on solar energy. The lodge consciously manages water and waste. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the team consists of local guides who know the area like the back of their hand.

“Look out for elephants along the bank and fish eagles overhead”
