“Here the landscape is as impressive as the wildlife”
Nxai Pan Camp is located on the edge of the iconic salt pans in the namesake national park. A destination that is often overlooked, but one we are extremely excited about. Especially in the green season (December to March), this vast plain bursts with life: zebras, springboks, and even cheetahs can be found in large numbers. This is safari for connoisseurs, set in a landscape reminiscent of another planet.
Seasonal migration and contrast
During the rainy season, thousands of zebras migrate to Nxai Pan, one of the largest migrations in Southern Africa. Predators like lions and cheetahs follow them, resulting in impressive scenes. Outside the season, a magical emptiness prevails: endless white plains, solitary baobabs, and silent beauty.

Serene and stylish camp
Nxai Pan Camp is the only permanent camp in the park. It offers 9 spacious chalets (one of which is a family room) that all overlook the ‘open pan’. With solar power, minimalist design, and plenty of wood, the camp beautifully blends into its surroundings. Comfortable yet unpretentious, perfectly suited to this place.

Safari with a twist
Because the area is flat and open, the game drives here are different from those in the Delta. You see animals approaching from a distance and experience more ‘tracking from afar’. Activities:
- Game drives in open vehicles
- Visit to the famous Baines’ Baobabs
- Walking safaris with a San guide
- Cultural stories on survival in the Kalahari
Silence that enters
In Nxai Pan, there is no permanent water, hence no hippos, no crocodiles, and no mokoros. But the silence, the light, and the vastness leave a deep impression. Here you look further – literally and figuratively.

“Go in February, as that’s when the young zebras are there, and the predators are active”
