Why we love Savuti
"Every trip in Savuti feels like a scene from a nature documentary."

Savuti, in the southern part of Chobe National Park, is one of the wildest safari areas in Botswana. Here, there are no permanent rivers or lush wetlands. Instead, a dry, dusty savanna stretches out, dotted with mysterious rock formations, vast plains, and dead trees standing as silent witnesses to the harsh climate. Savuti is famous for its lions, which have adapted to hunting exceptionally large prey. Even elephants are sometimes not safe.
The Savuti Channel, which dried up over the years and later unexpectedly flowed again, has shaped the landscape and remains one of the region’s most fascinating features. During the dry season, nature here is at its most intense: raw, wild, and pure. Overnight stays range from simple campsites to small bush lodges. For travelers seeking untamed Botswana, Savuti is an adventure you will never forget.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit Savuti is from May to October, during the dry season. During this period, animals are easier to spot, and predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas gather around the few permanent water sources. The dusty, parched landscape is spectacular.
In the rainy season (November to April), Savuti becomes greener and more challenging to navigate, but predators are particularly active, offering the chance to witness dramatic encounters with migrating herbivores.
