Why we love the Linyanti River
"Linyanti feels like your own little piece of wilderness, so pristine."

Located on the western edge of Chobe National Park, far from the beaten paths, Linyanti is one of Botswana’s most exclusive safari regions. Here, there is no hustle and bustle, only space. Sand tracks lead you along lagoons, palm plains, and dense mopane bush. The area borders the Linyanti River and consists of private concessions with just a handful of lodges and one remote campsite. This campsite is perfect for adventurous travelers who want to camp right in the bush, surrounded only by nature.
The Linyanti River is famous for its incredible wildlife concentrations, especially during the dry season when animals gather at permanent water sources. Imagine elephants in huge herds, rare packs of wild dogs, and nocturnal predators like hyenas and leopards. Safaris here are often enhanced by walking safaris or boat trips (depending on water levels). This is Africa in its purest form, for those truly seeking the silence of the bush.
Best travel time
The best time to visit Linyanti is from June to October, during the dry season. In these months, enormous numbers of animals gather at the river, including large elephant herds and predators. Visibility during the wet months is limited due to the dense vegetation of mopane forests, and some areas can be difficult to navigate. For optimal wildlife experiences and tranquility, the dry period is ideal.
